Inclement weather is prompting postponement of the Diocese of Knoxville’s Rosary for Life and Divine Mercy Chaplet that was scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23.
The new date for this year’s Rosary for Life, which will coincide with the diocese’s 40 Days for Life vigil, is Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. across from Planned Parenthood at 710 N. Cherry St. in Knoxville.
Bishop Richard F. Stika will lead the Rosary for Life and Divine Mercy Chaplet, and he is asking all parishioners and people of faith to join him in this special event to celebrate the sanctity of life.
On the heels of three inches of snow that fell in and around Knoxville on Jan. 20, the National Weather Service is predicting another winter storm to hit East Tennessee Friday night, Jan. 22, into Saturday, Jan. 23, that could dump another five inches of snow on the area and forced postponement of the Rosary for Life.
The 40 Days for Life vigil will begin on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, and continue through Palm Sunday, March 20. The vigil will be held daily outside of the Planned Parenthood clinic at 710 N. Cherry St.
