The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus will begin installation of the second half of its pipe organ this month. The project includes construction of a platform in the choir loft and will take about four weeks.
To accomodate for the construction, the cathedral will close after Masses on Sunday and stay closed until 11 a.m. the following Saturday, beginning Jan. 15 and continuing through Feb. 9.

Monday, 2/12: Cathedral Closed

Wednesday, 2/14: Open for Ash Wednesday
Thursday, 2/15: Cathedral Closed
Friday, 2/16: Cathedral will be closed during the day. Will open at 5:30 p.m. for Stations of the Cross.**
During this time, the 8:05 a.m. daily Mass (Monday-Friday) will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Cathedral School cafeteria, and the noon daily Mass (Monday-Friday) will be celebrated in the Shea Room in the cathedral parish office.
Confession on Wednesday evenings (5:30-6:30 p.m.) will occur in the 200 wing of Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Exposition, adoration, and benediction will not take place on Jan. 17, 24, 31, and Feb. 7.
On Saturdays, 8:05 a.m. daily Mass will be celebrated in the Shea Room, followed by confession (8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m.) in priests' offices.
The cathedral's Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel will remain open.
Father David Boettner, rector of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred of Heart of Jesus, expressed his appreciation to the benefactors who made this project possible as well as the construction and organ companies completing the work.
