The Office of Marriage Preparation and Enrichment helps couples live our their vocation of marriage. Marriage preparation aims to help engaged couples more fully understand the Church’s beautiful vision of marriage and equip you with the information and tools necessary to deal with the day-to-day joys and struggles of married life.
Marriage Enrichment opportunities will re-energize your marriage and deepen your commitment to your covenant bond. Couples are encouraged to take quality time to enhance their communication and build a stronger marital and family foundation. Programs are designed to benefit couples of all ages and at all stages.
National Marriage Week is Feb. 7-14. This year's theme, "Marriage...one flesh, given and received" highlights the one-flesh union of husband and wife that is willed by God. It also indicates the personal self-gift of each spouse, one to the other. These concepts point to Christ who gives Himself under the appearance of bread and wine—as real flesh and blood and are a good way to connect the reality of marriage with the National Eucharistic Revival process. All resources can be downloaded on the USCCB web page.
On March 19, 2021, the Church celebrated five years since the publication of the apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia on the beauty and joy of love in the family. On the same day, Pope Francis launched the Year "Amoris Laetitia Family." The Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, has launched an initiative to accompany the Year of the Family: ten families from various parts of the world offer their video testimonies discussing the papal document. Each month, a new video will be released to enkindle pastoral interest in the family within dioceses and parishes around the world. Click here to witness their testimonies and learn more about Amoris Laetitia.
