Rite of Election - Cumberland Mtn and Smoky Mtn Deaneries

The Rite of Election includes the enrollment of all the catechumens seeking baptism at the coming Easter Vigil. The catechumens publicly express their desire for baptism to the diocesan bishop. Their names are recorded in a book and they are called the Elect.

Catechumens from the Cumberland Mountain and Smoky Mountain Deaneries will celebrate the Rite of Election at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m.
