St. John Neumann Parish in Farragut is holding 40 Hours with Jesus in preparation for the feast day of St. John Neumann. Forty Hours is a 40-hour-period of Eucharistic adoration that represents the traditional time Jesus’ body was in the tomb from his death to Resurrection. The devotion of 40 Hours was organized in this country in the 19th century by St. John Neumann.
It will begin with exposition in the church at noon on Jan. 3. There will be 40 hours of continuous exposition of the Eucharist (except during scheduled daily Mass). Exposition will end prior to the 6:45 a.m. Mass on Jan. 5.
