The Diocese of Knoxville is seeking a Director of Communications. The role is responsible for managing all diocesan communications efforts, primarily in the areas of video, digital media, and print; directs and provides content in the form of press releases, news articles, messages, photos, and videos for the diocesan website, social media platforms, and The East Tennessee Catholic newspaper; directs and produces diocesan video projects; and provides direct supervision of the diocesan communications staff.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Experience in interviewing, newswriting, and applying those skills to create content for all diocesan digital and print media platforms. Experience with basic website content production. Ability to gather news and write content under deadline and with a level of proficiency expected in the field of journalism and media relations.  Ability to shoot and edit photos/videos using digital cameras and photo editing software. Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
