DYMAC is like no other group I have ever been a part of. It has increased my leadership skills and introduced me to wonderful friends who are like family. 25 /25 would sign up again. – Juan Sandoval, Chattanooga Deanery Rep
The Diocesan Youth Ministry Advisory Council, or DYMAC, is composed of teenagers from throughout the Diocese of Knoxville who with the guidance of Deanery Coordinators of Youth Ministry and the Diocesan Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry plan entire youth events, such as summer God Camps, Catholic Youth Camp (CYC), Winter Middle School Retreat, the Diocesan Youth Mass and trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference. DYMAC is responsible for planning and implementing these events from start to finish including such areas as icebreakers, menus, t-shirts, activities, retreat themes, and so much more! In addition to DYMAC meetings, serving on DYMAC is a year long commitment to participate in parish youth ministry, monthly deanery meetings and a variety of diocesan and deanery youth events.
DYMAC is awesome, enjoy yourself, make new friends, and most importantly grow in your faith, you will love it! – Lily Deinhart, Cumberland Mountain Deanery Rep.
The Diocese of Knoxville is divided into four deaneries: Smoky Mountain, Cumberland Mountain, Five Rivers, and Chattanooga. Each of these deaneries chooses representatives to serve on DYMAC. These representatives get feedback from their parish and deanery to bring to DYMAC, and then take the results of the DYMAC meetings back to their parishes to discuss the plans and events. This way, as much of the diocese as possible has a hand in planning the events.
While you’ll have a great time, focus and you’ll do amazing things. – Noah Goodson, Smoky Mountain Deanery Rep
DYMAC is what you make of it. The perfect combination of fellowship, fun, and productivity. The events are all in your hands. – Michaela Guice, Chattanooga Deanery Rep.
DYMAC,really helps you grow spiritually. It also helps you gain many new leadership, teamwork, communication, and social skills. Be ready for the BEAST (pizza) – Luis Reynoso , Five Rivers Deanery Rep.
