Bishop Stika to celebrate Mass in thanksgiving for veterans

Bill Brewer Catholic Church, News

Attention all military veterans.

Bishop Richard F. Stika is inviting all veterans to join him for Mass on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The Mass will be offered in thanksgiving for all veterans and for those currently serving in the military. Veterans are welcome to wear their uniform.

Veterans now are among the service professionals Bishop Stika recognizes annually at Masses celebrated in the Diocese of Knoxville. He also annually holds a White Mass for health care workers, a Red Mass for those working in the legal community, and a Blue Mass for those in law enforcement, firefighting and rescue professionals, first responders, and emergency medical technicians.

For further information about the Mass for veterans, contact Paul Simoneau, diocesan vice chancellor and director of the Office of Peace and Justice who also is a retired U.S. Marine Corps lieutenant colonel. Mr Simoneau can be reached at psimoneau@dioknox.org.
