Bishop Stika is pleased to announce the following priest assignments which are effective July 1, 2016:
Reverend John Arthur Orr to pastor of St. Joseph the Worker in Madisonville. Father Orr will succeed Father P.J. McGinnity, who has served as pastor at St. Joseph the Worker since 2009. Father McGinnity will take up Ministry as a priest in the Diocese of Clogher in Ireland.
Reverend Michael Hendershott to full-time teacher at Knoxville Catholic High School, part-time associate pastor of Holy Ghost Church in Knoxville and associate vocations director.
Reverend Mike Creson to part-time associate pastor of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Church in Cleveland, part-time Sacramental Minister to Memorial Hospital (Chattanooga) and part-time sacramental assistant to Notre Dame High School.
Reverend Raymond Powell to parochial administrator of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in LaFollette and Christ the King Church in Tazewell.
Following his ordination to the priesthood on June 4, Rev. Mr. Adam Royal to associate pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, in Chattanooga.
Additionally, Bishop Stika announces the following changes with our Paulist Fathers:
Fr. Gerard Tully, CSP, associate pastor of Immaculate Conception, will be assigned to a parish in Southern California and will be replaced by Rev. Timothy F. Sullivan, C.S.P. Fr. Sullivan has served as pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Memphis and St. Peter’s Church in Toronto. He also worked closely with Bishop Terry Steib in the Diocese of Memphis Catholic Charities Office
Fr. Rich Andre, CSP, Associate Pastor of St. John XXIII on the University of Tennessee campus, will be assigned to a parish in Austin, Texas and will be replaced by Rev. Robert J. O’Donnell, C.S.P. Fr. O’Donnell has been serving as a campus minister at Holy Spirit Parish/Newman Hall, in Berkeley, CA for the last three years. Prior to that, Fr. O’Donnell served as a campus minister at MIT, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Connecticut. He was pastor of the Paulist Mother Church in New York City from 2002-2005.
Bishop Stika thanks the Fr. Tully and Fr. Andre for their ministry these last several years and welcomes Fr. Sullivan and Fr. O’Donnell to the Diocese of Knoxville. Please join Bishop Stika in congratulating all the aforementioned priests and praying for them as they begin their new ministries.
