Youth Ministry Specialization Certificate Program
NACYML is pleased to announce the OnCourse Youth Ministry Specialization Certificate beginning September 2010 and concluding November 2011. The program, offered in conjunction with Ministry Training Source (MTS) and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), will consist of four courses addressing all of the specialized competencies for youth ministry leaders from the National Certification Standards for Lay Ecclesial Ministers (136 KB)and will help participants to develop a portfolio to aid in the application for national certification. NACYML is partnering with MTS and SMWC to provide this program. NACYML members will pay a discounted program fee; the program is open to non-members as well. Undergraduate and graduate credit will be available for an additional fee from SMWC. Download information sheet here. Online Certificate in Youth Ministry
Audience
This Certificate is designed for adults in parish youth ministry wishing to develop skills for effectively engaging young people in parish settings.
Requirements
- Complete the application form (use the link found below) and pay the $15.00 / $30.00 fee.
- Successfully complete the required work for each course including the additional Certificate exercises in each session of the course. It is recommended that the courses be taken in sequence. Normal Course and Seminar fees apply.
- Up to two courses taken with a diocese may be applied toward the Certificate in Youth Ministry. To request consideration for a waiver/s, your Diocesan Catechetical Leader is required to submit a letter and course syllabus to the Director of the VLCFF indicating that the selected course/s was equivalent to 2.5 CEUs (25 clock hours of work) and met the equivalent VLCFF course objectives.
- It is your responsibility to keep track of your progress in the program: Keep track of the courses you have taken, and when you have finished the program, contact Margaret.Shufflebarger@notes.udayton.edu with your request for your certificate of completion.
