Engaged Encounter

Our motto is “A wedding is a day, a marriage is a lifetime.” Most people spend months planning and many dollars preparing for their wedding. But how much time and effort do we spend preparing for what we hope will last 50 or 60 years—our marriage? Catholic Engaged Encounter is a weekend to plan for a sacramental marriage. It is designed to give couples the opportunity to talk privately, honestly and intensively about their prospective lives together—their strengths and weaknesses, desires, ambitions, goals, their attitudes about money, sex, children, family, their role in the church and society—in a guided format. Cost of the weekend is $239 per couple, which includes a certificate good for a $60 discount on the couple’s marriage license in Tennessee.

“Picture of Love” engaged couples’ retreat

This marriage-preparation program is designed to help the couple gain a better understanding of the joys and challenges of living the sacrament of matrimony in their day-to-day lives. The program will help the couple gain insights into their relationship and give them practical ideas and tools to smooth their journey and become the “Picture of Love” to each other. Cost of the program is $135, which includes a certificate good for a $60 discount on the couple’s marriage license in Tennessee.

COST: $135.00 per couple

Marriage Encounter

Turn a good marriage into a great one with a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. The emphasis of the weekend is communication between husbands and wives. The weekend provides an environment for couples to spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, while encouraging them to focus on each other and their relationship.

It’s not a retreat, a marriage clinic, a group sensitivity session, or a substitute for counseling. It’s a unique approach aimed at revitalizing marriage. Every marriage deserves that kind of attention.

2012 Dates

  • February 10, 11, 12 – Gatlinburg
